Quick Fix

Mercedes Announces they are going to close their luxury brand, the one and only Maybach. Mercedes is saying that this is because the dim sales of Maybach's but lets face it, that just isn't true, Maybach is a world renowned company, and are very rare and exclusive, if anything Mercedes just want to implement that Maybach into their next S class.

Porsche announces a new concept car unter the name of the 9P1, seems Porsche is going for possibly a supercar with a redesigned body as well as 400 horses under the hood. Personally i do not really like the body, it is insidious but sexy... not really. Hopefully we can see this car in car shows over the next few years. VIDEO

Another concept car has also bee announced and it is the unique and missed Acura NSX, now that Acura has gotten their finances in place since their company boom in 05' they can suport such a sporty car. It is expected to be seen during the Detroit Auto Show on January 7th, we will definitely be looking out for this one. Honda NSX Reborn as Concept at 2012 Detroit Show

The new 3series has been reviewed and of course rating are high across the board, and many have been able to say its still probably the best car in its class! Even though i do not like the body that much, i will eventually fall in love with it, its inevitable, not to mention this 3 series still comes with a Manual, and if anything BMW should be commended for this.

Lexus GS Series

Lexus is really starting to pump up there game, going from the ES300(luxury car without any performance capabilities) and the IS300(Otherwise known as the Toyota Altenza, and had an amazing turning radius) to the crazy and wonderful IS-F, and LFA. If anything it seems like Lexus is starting to become more sporty, and is it because they had to or they just wanted to crush the competition?

The year 2005 marked the introduction of the 3rd generation of GS sedans, before this the GS in Lexus was not as highly recognized. This 3rd generation brought in nice, big, well curved, and reliable models. This year was also when the world got a chance to see the new IS series as well as the rumors of the LFA, Lexus was starting to pick their game up. The GS series is basically the executive cars of Lexus, originally meant to bridge the gap between the IS and ES series, the GS soon because something else, as it
File:Lexus GS 300 Matador Red.jpgquickly gained its own popularity. To the left is a picture of the 3rd generation of the GS series, yes it doesn't look that sporty, just a big car that probably floats down the road. Looking at this though it is easy to deduce who its main competition is, of course its BMW and Mercedes Benz. Now seeing that with this car comes more standard equipment, and will end up being cheaper fully loaded than a half loaded Bimmer or Merc it would seem this car would be the better choice. Yet it isn't and why is that, well for one BMW and Mercedes have a certain demeanor, something that just makes you want one, an aura lets say. Lexus on the other hand, frankly didn't have an aura at this time, even if it was cheaper than a 5 series or a E or S class. This new Lexus though evens the playing field a bit, getting a big facelift, and some more sportier mechanics, it seems this Lexus will be giving BMW and Mercedes a run for their money.
2013 Lexus GS 350 F SportAt first you might be thinking wait a minute that looks like an IS-F, just a little. Well thats what Lexus was going for, they want to make this new GS series a lot more sporty than it use to be. You can see this by the gawking front diffuser, and curved lip side skirts and the aluminum alloys. These improvements though aren't just skin deep, they extend all the way to the core of car. The car still has pretty much the same hardware as the previous GS but there are a few twists, parts and ideology from the IS-F series. What i mean is sportier shocks, paddle shifters that can be just as violent as the IS-F, Sport modes for adjustment in throttle control, suspension stiffness and etc., and there will be an AWD version available as well. Now in terms of Performance it is a bit difficult to estimate as Lexus is still working out kinks, but a projected 5-6 second 0-60 time would not be far off by my estimations, although there will be a sport version of the GS offered not under the F name(although there is speculation of a GS-F) but will be able to do 0-60 in 5.6 seconds.

Now this is great, Lexus is the luxury division of Toyota, but it seems they are skimping out on a certain very important part, and this part will be the downfall of this car.... The V-6. This is a HUGE car, i mean HUGE, weighing a tad bit under 2 tons this thing is hard to get moving. The current GS series does have the GS460 which does have a V-8 but that option is out the window now, and frankly it will be hard for the top of the line versions of this GS series to compete with the top of the line versions of BMW's or Mercedes. Yes the prices will be thousands of dollars apart but BMW and Mercedes just deliver for what you pay. At least in the 5 series for BMW, not really in the lower end 3 series. In my opinion i love the car, i like how it looks, i think its cool, modern and a refreshing take on the otherwise "sporti-less" current GS series, but frankly I dont think it can compete with BMW or Mercedes.

Quick Fix

BMW M5 officially does 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and a quarter in 12

Sergio Scalietti died on Nov.20, and if you aren't familiar with him he was a designer for Ferrari, he came up with the beautiful designs of the Testa Rossa 250, the 500 Mondial, as well as other amazing cars.

The next Dodge Viper SRT 10 is expected to be a softer version of its predecessors. This is a depressing development, because if you didn't know, before now the Dodge Viper didn't have traction or stability control, this meant one crazy car, and one that really wasn't meant for a lot of people. Hopefully we see what we are working with spec wise for this next Viper.

The Mercedes C63 AMG Black has been reviewed and its just as bad as any black series. For those who dont know what the "black" series is, it is a super version of an AMG. Its been stripped and tuned and for a comparison it would be like a M3 GTS, but this Merc is even quicker than that, with a N/A(Naturally Aspirated) engine producing 510 hp. Now from this is can been seen the GTS is the C63's main competition but considering that GTS is a track built car while the CL isnt will be a interesting fight.

McLaren opened up a huge new factory in England, costing millions of dollars, and when i say million  i mean +60 million plus. If anything this is great as McLaren has only really built 2 cars if you even want to consider the F1 as one of them, but just 2 and they are perfect. This "perfect" one im referring to is the McLaren MP412-C, which is quicker that a ferrari 458 Italian, Porsche GTRS2, and in a straight like the Nissan GTR, these are all heavy hitters and McLaren seems to breeze right past them. So stimulating the economy as well as building the quickest cars in the world... I am expecting many great things from McLaren.

The Nissan Juke R is starting to become more of a reality especially since videos have been produced of the engine being placed in the bay of this little crossover. It will be producing 480bhp with a projected top speed of 196 mph and that will be one legitimate Crossover SUV Supercar. Links below

Quick Fix

New Merc ML63 AMG came out, 519 Hp on the entry version on, but with the performance package its bumped up to 550Hp, all this power results in a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds. The Merc also features updated looks with gaping front and rear intakes, it looks like one mean SUV but comparable to the X5M and X6M, the Mercedes main competition, it will be a close race for the best(no pun intended)

Details on the New Hyundai Genesis have come out, boasting a 345 Hp V-6 and 8 speed Automatic gearbox. That doesn't mean that car wont be offered in a 6 speed manual even though that will probably be preferred.

New Ford Shelby GT500 coming out, and as it is commonly known Americans love Hp. Therefore the 500 in the GT500 doesnt apply anymore, that 500Hp is dwarfed by the new 5.4 Liter 600 Hp V-8 capable of 200Mph!. These numbers are gunning for the new Camaro ZL1, a little friendly competition on American soil never hurt anyone.(Besides the Civil War)
2013 Ford Shelby GT500
The Audi TTRS is coming to the United States! Only coming with the option of a 6-Speed Manual, this car is a pure bred and can reach 60 in 4.6 seconds. Considering though this is a really hardcore car it will be interesting to see how well the sales do in America.

Ferrari FF... Massacre?

That right there is an absolutely beautiful car.Ferrari F430, a mid-engined monster with a screaming
V-8 producing 483hp. This is the epitome of Ferrari, one of their most successful and loved models, now obviously without the addition of the Enzo or 599 this car is hands down the best in the Ferrari Lineup. When i think of Ferrari this is what i think about, i dont think about 4 wheel drive, front engined, 4 seated sports cars... thing is, this is just what the Ferrari FF is.

At first glance it is apparent who the competition is for this fastback, the Porsche Panamera, and the Aston Martin Rapide. If we are looking strictly at these two cars, this Ferrari wins in everyway(maybe not considering the new Panamera Turbo S), 0-60? 3.7 secs, Hp? 660, Engine type? V-12. This car will destroy most of the sports cars in the world today, and it can seat 4 people!

2011 Ferrari FF2011 Ferrari FF
Looks: Lets be honest... it is definetly not the pretiest Ferrari ever built, the back seems to cut of pre-maturely, and has a bit of an awkward slant down, the front looks far to large, and the rear looks a bit tilted. Overall its a bit of a clunky looking car in my opinion, and lines dont really make sense(like the Porsche Panamera).

The Interior though is absolutely beautiful, bathed in the finest most suple(probably italian) leather and a perfect button setup to let you focus on the road. Now let it be no lie that these pictures do make this car look a bit more spacious than it really is.Ferrari says that there will be enough room for 4 people to sit in the car, but i am not sure if that is based on a small italian.... or the average human. Other than that this is a beautiful interior and i wouldn't mind living in it if i do say so myself.

Drive and Engine:
There is something very special about this ferrari, and it is a first in the Ferrari world, any guesses? This car has AWD( All Wheel Drive), which means all four wheel on the car receive power at once. For this car specifically though i am not sure how much power is given to the back as compared to the front, but it can be assumed it is more than enough to get you to 60 in no time at all, 3.7 seconds specifically. What allows for all of this to happen though is the huge V-12 sitting in the front of this ferrari, producing 660 BHP this car is not joking around, even with 4 seats. Not to mention the sky high 208.3Mph estimate, which is super car status. If the looks just dont do it for you then the performance sure as hell will.

Price: I had to make a separate section on this because it really is a big deal. The price of this FF is expected to be $359,000, this is no joke, $186,000 more than a Panamera Turbo S, and $159,000 more than a Aston Martin Rapide. The Porsche is just as fast as the Ferrari, looks almost the same as the Ferrari and is better than the Ferrari im betting. So this price... where does it come from? Its simple, because Ferrari is just so respected, that they are able to charge the hell out of people and nobody will even think twice about it, because its a Ferrari.

Final Verdict: Ferrari is moving into a new realm, a realm where Ferrari does not just have a hold over two seaters, but possibly very soon, a hold over the 4 seaters. There is one problem with all of this and it really is quite simple, this just isnt Ferrari. I like Ferrari where it is right now, its what keeps kids thinking about the super cars they love, it keeps them thinking about 2 door, 2 seaters that have rockets sticking out the back and a spoilers that actual make you fly. If Ferraris become more common.... then dont they lose their prestige? This is what seems to be happening, but at the same time Ferrari is still making those cars with rockets that seem to fly, but can they make both work together and keep the legendary name of Ferrari, as rare as it has always been?

Car Town

I am not sure if any of you spend a lot of time on Facebook but I do. Reason? Car Town. It is a game on Facebook, that is basically like a animated car community. You can buy pretty much any car you want, and then customize it, race it, and make money. It may seem like a childish idea but it is tremendously entertaining, you have your own garage which you can customize, and there are special challenges that you are able to complete for example you can make your own fast five crew, race in the indy 500,  race in Nascar, go to the Ferrari factory, or even build your own time machine! from back to the future. This game does take time to get into but once you do you will be making loads of money and buying tons of cars.

Above is a picture of someone's garage, and as you can see it is totally customizable, may seem a bit crazy and a bit obsessive but it really is fun. Hopefully you get involved and start playing it on Facebook, and if you do then be sure to invite me to be one of your friends ill help ya out ;], you can find my account on my The Car Blog page on FB! Thanks for reading.

Quick Fix

Mercedes CLK 63 AMG has finally been test driven, and man does it deliver, 3.7 second 0-60 times, and torque that could spin the world a thousand times over, this definitely triumphs over its German Counterpart... BMW

2013 Nissan GT-R has been announced with some added Hp which means 545 horses as well as a new suspension and diff system, that will propel that car to sixty in 2.7 seconds, and a quarter... in ten, a stock 10 second car talk about awesome

Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept profileSubaru is realeasing teasers for their next Legacy, and it looks a lot better than the current one by a long shot. This looks like it should have been made by Lamborghini, whatever this new styling is though i love it.
On another note the redesign for the Subaru Impreza is kind of a let down its a mini version of the Subaru Legacy which is just to bulky.

Toyota is looking to join the LMP lemans stage and they are dead serious about it, building a hybris LMP car as well as recruiting some of the best drivers in the game today, and remember this is toyota, they know what they are talking about.

In other stupid news apparently when you look at the charts for most stolen cars they are based on stolen to production rate.... so if someone stole one Bugatti it would more or less be the most stolen car of the year, i dont even want to ge started on how dumb of an idea that is.

Driving a slow car... fast is better than driving a fast car... slow?

Fast cars are cool, if i could drive a lambo everyday i would definitely do it. I mean its awesome knowing the car that i drive can go 220mph whenever i want... wait i cant do that. Now that i think about it ill never ever be able to even push 1st gear to 8300rpm.

What if i drive a a 3 series though or a audi, mmmm i could push that's cars rev needle to the limit everyday. This presents a problem though, i want a fast car but whats the point if i cant even drive it fast. This problem is more specifically applied to the U.S. Speed limits are everywhere, and this is a cop on more or less every single block, there are cameras watching every street and its illegal. So this clashes with everything that motivates buying a sports car, i can either buy an extremely nice, super fast, cool car or i can buy a still luxurious car but for cool factor it cant even compare. The funny part about this is i would imagine the government would want you to buy the more expensive car, it contributes to capitalism, and makes you pay more to the government for luxury car tax, mvd prices, and well it brings in more revenue. I realize that not everyone can buy a super car but this can apply to even cheaper cars, like m3's, evos, subi's, s4's, these cars are still tremendously quick maybe not super car status but they are still limited to the same circumstances that more expensive cars are.

I don't see why America just doesn't build an autobahn, it would be so much fun. Originally sometimes in the 20th century there were plans that we slated for one.... but it never happened, why? Because it cost to much. I am sure people would be willing to pay for the autobahn, a transcontinental highway right through the heart of America. I know i would be willing to pay for it, but i guess that is asking for just to much. Hopefully one day that dream does come true, but even if it does, yes unfortunately there is a downside, truckers would probably take up all the room, but at least we get to stretch the legs out on our little speed demons.

Another option to let our fast cars actually go fast is tracking them, and this is a viable option... if you are willing to pay and risk your car, now yes there is always a risk of crashing your car but when your barreling down a straight into a tight s-curve is an added amount of difficulty on top of that you have insurance costs, the cost of tires which you will go through like no other on track days.
So in conclusion who knows what future there is for fast cars on city roads, but in the mean time ill stick to "quick" car and have fun with it, but maybe those "fast cars" should just be confined to the race track because frankly whats the point of owning a car meant for speed and never doing it justice. That's just my 2 cents, and hopefully you can see where I'm coming from.

Cars and Guys

What is it about cars that sends shivers down guys'(and women) spines. Is it the low rumbling grunt of a V-8? the smooth and rough lines on the car, or is it simply the ability to go fast. Cars, there are pretty ones, ugly ones, cool ones, and just downright weird ones, but behind every car i can bet there is atleast one guy who loves it. For me, the first car that i "fell" in love with was my dads first M. 1997 BMW M3 4 door sedan 5 speed manual.

E36 M3
Yes it may not be some super car with fins sticking out the side with a rocket in the back, but it was something i looked up to, and something that frankly i admired.
Exploring this topic really is going to be tough, i mean this is a very abstract story and it will make you think about cars and what you like and what you dont like. Let us start with the basics though. Your born, your a little baby, even from here everything can affect how you look at cars. Does you dad or mom drive a nice car, for me i didnt see some poster of a ferrari and just fall in love i fell in love with something that was concrete something that i could experience and feel, now for somebody else it could be a car that they might never own, like a ferrari, lamborghini, or a 1 million dollar bugatti, haha.
Now though you have grown up and you can experience the cars, you can drive them and really see what its like, and even if you dont have the fastest car in the world, it is still your baby. Now this is very interesting, just how a dog is man's best friend it seems that us as people develop a connection with our cars. Now most people of course just look at a car as something that goes from point a to b, but us, no we enjoy our cars fast or slow, we learn them and we appreciate them. People might read this and think man this guy is crazy, does he want to marry his car or something, well for me its true, i truly do love my tl, i love everything about it, its a quick little car, and for a first car it is a dream. I guess what draws car lover to the cars they love is the bond that they build with those cars, whether it is in their imagination or if it is something that actually experienced. A car community is not a group of people who know what a gear ratio is, or what ABS is(which should be known... just saying) it is a community of people who just love cars, whether its the looks, the sound, or pride in the company, we all have something to offer. Thankyou for reading.

P.S. you can probably see why i have a predisposition for BMW now.

Initial D!

So im not sure if any of you have ever heard of a Japanese Manga show called Initial D. It is a bit old spanning from the 90s to present but it is a wildly entertaining show. It follows the story of a unknown driver names Takami Fujiwara and his quick introduction into the spotlight of illegal mountain drifting in the mountains of Japan, but more specifically Mt Akina. This may seem like a kids show to all of you, but really it does have some interesting technical aspects of cars, and it does do them justice, even though the animations may not be that inmpressive but the story is a one off. Takami also drives a Toyota Trueno, and that car is known for some pretty nice drifting but of course everybody underestimates it in this show but of course it never loses :p. hopefully you guys check this series out, they have the 1st-4th stage on netflix, and the 5th stage is hopefully coming out soon, but it is available online at
http://www.mangaeden.com/en-manga/initial-d/440/2/
keep in mind that this is the fifth stage and was translated so you must read from right to left but hoepfully you enjoy it!

(Sidenote: dont want the movie with the actual people in it... it sucks.)

Quick Fix

Subaru BRZ Concept STISubaru announces the BRZ STI, now yes this may be just a concept car but it will be quick that is for sure, sporting Brembo brakes, 18" wheels, tuned suspension and no TUBRO!

Honda Si Coupe has just been announced as well, not this may not seem like anything special but the Si editions of Honda are pretty powerful especially with that V-Tec(i would know), the most unique thing about this Accord, which is on sale now, is that it has a supercharger, now that may sound crazy but Honda does have a very reliable performance team keep in mind that the Acura NSX was created by them.

Hyundai confirms the rumors of a more powerful Genesis coupe, as it is the top of the line Genesis already is a tremendously quick and well equipped car, lets see what this "upgrade" will be.

2012 Fiat 500 Abarth has been announced, the stock Fiat 500 may look like a baby car, considering it is tremendously small and not very powerful, but this new Abarth Edition is stripped down and tuned for some real performance, it will be interesting to see this car come out in 2012

Toyota FT-86 is becoming more and more leaked, and man does it look like a nice car. Swede interior trim, bucket seats, performance brakes, and a toyota tuned engine... if its anything like the Supra, they it will be a great success.
