The New 2012 BMW M5

Now many of you probably dont know that I am a BMW LOVER, but having an e46 m3(best looking m3 ever made in my opinion) makes you appreciate what the M division is and what they do. Stemming all the way from the 60's and seventies the M division was made to win races and manage BMW racing program, and man did they ever. They over took the bests on the racing circuits and proclaimed their car, as well as their slogan, The Ultimate Driving Machine. Focusing onto the M5, the M5 stems from a regular 5 series. The first one(E28) being made in 1985, then next in the 90's (e34), then the e39 the most revered m5 ever made, next is the E60, and finally today the most powerful and quickest M5 ever built the F10 M5. Boasting a projected 560 hp engine, duel or manual transmission, 0-60 time in projected 3.8 seconds and comes in at a colossal 4350 pounds. You can get this very nice looking car at around 90K base.
Looks: The previous M5 (E60) was not the most pretty M5 that has ever been produced, or even car in general, but with the new look that BMW is taking, it seems to fit perfectly into this new M5. Styling is sleek even with a 193.3 in. length this car can still be seriously sexy. You have a huge diffusor in the front, common of all M's now days, quad pipes in the back which is just a signature of the M series, and of course the M badges all over the car. The premium M edition wheel hottens the whole look of the car and the beautiful metallic blue that BMW choose to drape on the new M5 body fits it perfectly.  The interior is absolutely beautiful, especially with the smooth leather, and well laid out buttons and the beautiful red and blue cross stitching on the steering wheel. Every part of this car is top notch and nothing was spared in the development of it either.
Power: Sporting a nice grunty V-8 with Turbo Chargers  the car produces 560 bhp, and even weighing 4350 pounds the car will blast off to 60 in under 4 seconds, which is absolutely tremendous for an executive car. Having either a Dual Clutch or Manual this can can put power down across the board, all the way from 1k rpm to its redline at about 7200rpm, all of this putting together a quarter mile in 12.1 seconds, and a top speed of possibly 200 mph! Accompanying all of this is a quad pipe exhaust, letting out beautiful notes of that twin turbo V-8
Handling- Inherent with the M division and BMW is handling, known for breaking power and the feel of the road the M division knows how to set up their suspension. This new M5 is no exception to that rule, being as heavy as it is it can still turn on a dime with a traditional hydraulic steering setup, and it can also stop on a dime with huge ceramic brakes and large cross drilled break rotors.
Final thoughts: The most important part in the whole article !
The New m5 is great, it is a fast, ridiculous, sexy, and cool a car that literally anybody could drive, it handles well, its goes fast, its prestigious, its expensive and its just not M.... I know this all seems anticlimactic and all but look at everything i said before and there was one discrepancy, the turbo chargers. Ever since the first m's, Natural Aspiration was always at the heart of M cars, the high reeving beautiful sound of them reverberated through time and space.... maybe not that dramatic but they reverberated through every soul of true car lovers, the engine that just kept going. Now though with the new line of Forced induction M's on the loose there is no telling whether BMW will go back to their ways of revy small inline sixes or if they will continue down the path of power hungry, turbo charging monsters. Either way is promising, but for the people who hold M to their true form from the 70's, 80's 90's and early 2000's what we want are High Revving turbo free inline sixes, v-6's, v-8's, or v-10's that are pure savages, and its all we'll ever need.
